Our Erlenweiher campsite is located at the interface between the Upper Palatinate Forest and the Fichtelgebirge in the middle of the beautiful nature of the Steinwald.
Quickly accessible via the A93 and yet away from major traffic, you will find our camping facility in Thumsenreuth, a district of the municipality of Krummennaab.
In the book "Along the Grenzbach" Thumsenreuth is described by the chronicler Johann Baptist Lehner as "one of the loveliest points in the Grenzbachtal".

In the approximately 1.8 hectare Erlenweiher natural swimming lake with a separate children's and non-swimmers area, fans of cool water can have fun to their heart's content.
The " Grenzbach ", which rises in the stone forest and supplies the Erlenweiher with fresh water via a natural water filter system, ensures good water quality.
The large bathing area invites you to sunbathe and relax. Lots of play equipment for
Children and a volleyball court are also part of the campsite's facilities.

Our cozy restaurant with bar, beer garden and a sales kiosk ensure your physical well-being. Hot and cold dishes as well as hearty, typical Upper Palatinate snacks are part of the constant offering. The changing, daily fresh dishes round off our offering.
We are also happy to offer our holidaymakers a breakfast and bread roll service upon request. Our offer is complemented by a selection of different ice cream sundaes, coffee and tea as well as home-baked tarts and cakes.

  • Description of the environment: Our campsite is the ideal starting point for interesting excursion destinations in the area. The Waldnaabtal nature reserve, the Steinwald Nature Park, the Upper Palatinate Tower, many historic castles and palaces, the geo-center of the Continental Deep Drilling (KTB), a variety of cycling and hiking trails through the beautiful Upper Palatinate Forest as well as a wide range of sports and leisure opportunities are located right on our doorstep.

    Everything can be reached in just a few minutes from the Erlenweiher campsite and offers our guests the opportunity to experience an exciting, varied and relaxing stay with us. Look forward to an unforgettable holiday surrounded by beautiful nature.

    Directions

    Via the A93 (Hof-Regensburg):

    Take the Falkenberg exit (No. 19), then take the B299 towards Erbendorf. After about 7 km you will reach the intersection in Krummennaab, where you turn right towards Thumsenreuth. After about 3 kilometers, turn right at the end of Thumsenreuth. The access to the Erlenweiher is signposted in Thumsenreuth.

    From Bayreuth:

    Take the B22 towards Weiden i. d. OPf. At the second exit in Erbendorf, turn left, then towards Tirschenreuth on the B299. After about 5 km you will reach the intersection in Krummennaab, where you turn left towards Thumsenreuth. After about 3 kilometers, turn right at the end of Thumsenreuth. The access to the Erlenweiher is signposted in Thumsenreuth.

    Ruhige Lage, Badeweiher. Natur pur

    Einige der negativen Kommentare haben sich eigentlich erledigt seit April unter neuer Leitung daher nun nettes und hilfsbereites Personal, Toiletten und Duschen in einwandfreiem Zustand im Biergarten gibt es vom kleinen Snack bis zu einer kleinen Auswahl Hauptgerichte auch eine gute Auswahl an Getränken. Zusätzlich Kiosk mit Süßwaren, Knabbereien und Eis. Dazu gibt es Waschmaschinen also ich finde alles was das Camperherz begehrt. Das Wlan ist als nächstes dran, dann bin ich hier Wunschlos glücklich. Ein Preis- Leistungsverhältnis wie in anderen Bewertungen zu sehen mit 3 Punkten ist nicht mehr gegeben, das passt.

    Der Platz hat alles, was wir benötigt haben. Waren mit nem Bulli für einen Tag da.. im See baden, wandern... Preis/Leistung ist unschlagbar... Duschen und Toiletten ok, Verpflegung ist auch gut...

    Sehr gemischter Gesamteindruck

    Die Lage und das Ambiente wäre eigentlich schön. Grosse Stellplätze, viel Platz zum Ausbreiten. Aber sehr enge Zufahrt, die mit Sitzgelegenheiten zusätzlich verengt wird, wo abends Trinkgelage abgehalten werden. Dusche/WC manchmal sauber, WW kostet jeweils 1€ extra. Der Entsorgungsbereich ist meiner Meinung nach Rattenverdächtig, Mülltonnen überfüllt. Dauercamper sind ziemlich Hilfsbereit, was man vom unmotivierten Personal nicht sagen kann. Öffentliches Mobilnetz lückenhaft, Platzeigenes Wlan teuer und oft überlastet. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Lokale in Erbendorf=7km, am Platz wollten wir nicht Essen. Wir werden wieder in die Gegend kommen, dann aber die wesentlich preiswerteren öffentlichen Stellplätze in Erbendorf und Friedenfels nutzen. Schade, der Platz hätte echt Potential.

    Overall impression

    Von der Lage her ein schöner Campingplatz, mit einem Muffel-Platzwart!

    Wir waren im Juni 2018 auf diesen eigentlich schönen und ruhigen Campingplatz. Die Dauercamper vom Platz sind sehr zuvorkommen und angenehme Camperfreunde mit denen man sehr gut auskommen kann. Leider kann man das von den Campingplatz Pächter Ehepaar nicht sagen, der Platzwart ist ein Muffel der wahrscheinlich zum lachen in den Keller geht! und die Frau in der Küche hat Haare auf ihren Zähne! Unser Eindruck vom gesamten Campingplatz ist von der Pflege des Platzwarts her unter aller würde, wir waren 15 Jahre in Deutschland auf vielen Campingplätzen unterwegs und haben so einen ungepflegten Campingplatz wie Erlenweiher noch nie erlebt. Bei den dortigen Dauercampern sind deren Parzellen gepflegt und sauber gehalten, dazwischen kommen aber leider freie Plätze die den Platzwart gehören und verwildert und verwuchert von hohen Gras und Gestrüpp. Des weiteren sind die Sanitären Anlagen nicht unbedingt sauber gehalten und es ist mehrmals vorgekommen das zum Hände waschen Seife fehlt, kaputte Spiegel im Waschraum und Schimmel Flecken in den Duschen. 
    Wir werden da leider nicht mehr hinfahren da es bei weiten saubere Campingplätze im dortigen Umfeld gibt. 
    Den Pächter Ehepaar vom Campingplatz Erlenweiher können wir einen Tipp mit auf dem Weg geben, sie sollten den Campingplatz Eingang von dem Saufgelage freihalten. Macht kein guten Eindruck wenn man als Gast da rein und raus geht.
    Abends haben wir mitbekommen, ist der Platzwart und Wirt sein eigener bester Gast ist! 
    Das kann ja alles sein und gemacht werden, aber nicht an einem Campingplatz Eingang wo Publikumsverkehr ist und die Ein- Ausfahrt frei sein sollte.
    Trotzdem wünschen wir allen die da mal hinkommen einen schönen Urlaub, da von der Lage her  ist es ein sehr schöner Campingplatz und wir hoffen es gibt da mal einen neuen vernünftigen Pächter Ehepaar. Dann kommen wir auch wieder Gemeinde Krummennaab!

        • Autobahnausfahrt Falkenberg in Richtung Erbendorf, auf der Bundesstraße bis bis zur Ampel, dann Rechts in Richtung Friedenfels. Da fahren sie direkt durch Thumsenreuth, kurz vor Ende der Ortschaft geht es rechts den Berg hinunter zum Campingplatz!
