Pure nature and magical leisure opportunities

If you are looking for lots of nature and an inspiring landscape, you will find happiness in North Hesse. Four of Germany's largest reservoirs are nestled in the hilly landscape and surrounded by large, species-rich forests. The Edersee is the largest lake in Hesse, followed by the Affolderner See, Diemelsee and Twistesee. The lakes are also one of the biggest attractions for tourists. A special feature that runs throughout Hesse is the connection to the Brothers Grimm. The Fairy Tale Street is reminiscent of the fabulous stories of the natives of Hesse and leads to the locations of the well-known fairy tales from the Brothers Grimm town of Hanau in the Kinzig Valley to Bremen in northern Germany. The Grimm homeland of North Hesse offers numerous museums, parks and of course castles and palaces that served as inspiration for the storytellers.

Our tip: The Twistesee motorhome port

If you are now heading to the north of Hesse, we recommend a visit to the Twistesee motorhome port. This is located directly on the Fairytale Street not far from the historic town of Bad Arolsen. Here visitors can expect a baroque city layout, the residential palace and the new palace. Directly at the reservoir there is a bird sanctuary, a well-equipped beach, a water ski lift and a 7 km long circular path around the lake.

The modern motorhome port is rated excellently on Stellplatz.Info. A good infrastructure with new shower and toilet facilities as well as the direct location on the lake and only 200 meters from the town are some of the plus points. All further information about the parking space can be found here:
