Welcome to the Rubbertsmühle in Drensteinfurt!
We rent several AUTARK SITES with electricity/water if required:
We look forward to you coming to visit us! There are two things here: on the one hand, the peace and quiet of country life, and on the other hand, the sounds of country life. We have tractors that help us with our work, we mow the lawn, our goats mow every now and then, the owls are nocturnal, and during the day you can hear the kestrels that fly over our croft every now and then circle. And of course we also flit through the picture from time to time.
A reservation is always necessary. Please just call, WhatsApp or email.
On the east side of our small Mühlenhof farm we offer parking spaces for more or less self-sufficient vans or minibuses. Here you have plenty of space, you stand on a meadow or on a paved piece of sand.
If necessary, we can offer you electricity and water in smaller quantities (i.e. not to completely fill the gray water tank). A toilet is not available.
You camp next to/under our willow tree with a view of our mill tower and in the immediate vicinity of the goats or further away in the meadow, as you like. The meadow is lined with many young fruit trees of the old, dying varieties that we planted as part of the NABU orchard project in order to sustainably protect old fruit varieties from extinction.
The highlight is the view of our listed mill tower and the sunsets - ideally with a crackling campfire - feel free to ask us about our fire bowl.
Our three goats Odiloh, Azrael and Lavender have their home in your immediate neighborhood. To be honest, our cat Katinka isn't really happy about dog guests, but she's come to terms with it.
If you like, you can sweat in our barrel sauna. An outdoor shower with cold water is available to you.
The smell of fresh hay accompanies you in summer.
Children & dogs are welcome!
On the one hand, the meadow borders directly on our farm and, on the other hand, it is close to a federal road (100 meters). If you would like to be as lonely and quiet as possible, then you should book our single parking space in the orchard south of the mill - this comes with its own large bathroom/shower as standard, and has a swing and a small sandpit and lots of old fruit trees and berry bushes Snacking.
The price indicated (15 euros) refers to a vehicle with one person per night. From the 2nd person onwards, each adult costs an additional 5 euros and each child costs 3 euros per night. Children under 4 years old don't cost anything. If you need electricity, please contact me.
Dogs: we love animals, everyone is welcome! Because of our animals, the prerequisite is that you can live with your animals always being on a leash or in a run on our property. Please let us know if you would like to bring your four-legged friend(s) with you.
ACTIVITIES
I have put together a small booklet with things to see and experience that I will send you when you book and through which you can be inspired.
If you want to get to know some of the really beautiful destinations in our area, it is an advantage if you are mobile (bicycle, car).
If you are not, you can reach a larger grocery store with a bakery, two restaurants, a snack bar, the post office and doctors within walking distance. There are also beautiful circular routes for running.
Several beautiful cycling and hiking routes run along our mill - either directly into the industrial culture or into the nature of the Münsterland. The entrance to the Werseradweg is very close. You can also start the 100 Castles Route from here.
You can also find swimming and hiking lakes in the area (20-35 km).
Forests can be reached by bike.
Canoe and kayak trips on the Werse or Lippe are available in the area.
By car or train you can quickly get to Münster, Dortmund, Hamm or you can visit small, typical Münsterland towns. In my opinion, Münster in particular is worth a day tour. And Holland is not far away either. And of course the Ruhr area with its industrial culture.
If you are looking for day trip destinations for your children, here are some tips: In Münster there is a wonderful all-weather zoo, a planetarium, the mill museum and Lake Aasee, where you can ride a pedal boat. There is the Maxipark in Hamm.
Swimming pool, great sauna, indoor pool 10 km away - beautiful bike path
Shops (groceries) 1 km away. Shopping streets in Drensteinfurt, Ahlen and Hamm 10 km away (nice cycle paths there).
You can find numerous opportunities to eat regionally and Mediterranean food in Ahlen, Münster and Hamm.
