Camping in the Mecklenburg Lake District

Hardly anyone knows that Germany's largest inland lake is in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The Müritz is located in the middle of the Müritz National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are 1,117 natural lakes in an area that is around 240 km long and only 30 km wide. These form the largest, networked water sports area in Europe.

Starting directly on the Müritz, there are several motorhome parking spaces:

Müritz, goods and delicious fish food:

Starting right away with the parking space at the Ecktannen campsite . This is located directly on the Müritz, just a few minutes from the city of Waren. The parking space is still in front of the campsite barriers and has its own supply and disposal station, which is very easy to drive and use. The site's petting zoo is right next door. The parking space was rated 4.6 out of 5 stars on Stellplatz.info. The place impresses with its peace, the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities and the very friendly staff. There is a small supermarket on the campsite with a bread delivery service.

The campsite also has its own water access where boats can also be taken in. The spacious swimming area, with shallow water access and temporary lifeguards, makes it an ideal place for families.

A few hundred meters further you can rent boats, canoes and other water equipment.

Our tip: Go to Müritzfischer and eat a really good fish sandwich! Here it is still authentic and very, very tasty!

Camping at the water sports base

A little further on the Müritz, on the southeast bank, is the “Boek” C 16 campsite with a surfing and canoe base and the only kite surfing route in the Müritz on an extensive flat-water area. For those who arrive with their own boat, there are boat mooring areas on land.

If you prefer something less active but still want to enjoy the water, you can make yourself comfortable on the fine sandy beach and enjoy the view of the vastness of the water.

Particularly important this summer: Almost 70% of the pitches have shade, so the mobile doesn't heat up so incredibly during the day and the nights are more relaxed - even when it gets really hot again!

There is a kiosk and bicycles for rent on the square. The forests can be easily explored by bike. If you don't want to miss anything, you can rent a canoe and enjoy the beauty of nature from the water. Splendid! What better way to relax?!

Sleep with your motorhome in the middle of the boats!

There is always a lot to see at the motorhome parking space at Marina Malchow , because the parking space, which is right on the water of a marina, offers a great view of the water and the hustle and bustle on it. Hardly several minutes go by without a boat or water sports enthusiast passing by. Nevertheless, there is no stress and no noise either.

The proximity to the boats and the boat hall creates a real maritime flair. Of course, this is also a perfect point to launch your larger boat.

The motorhome parking space is a little outside, so to get to the next town you have to cycle for a few minutes or take the boat. This means you can travel faster on the lake in some cases!

There is a bread roll service and a small but nice sanitary block on the pitch. This is very clean, which is also reflected in the reviews of 4.5 stars overall.

Camping in the lake! That is, almost..

The Insel Camp Werder has a unique location on an island in the middle of Lake Plauer. The island is well connected to the mainland by road, so access is not a problem as long as the motorhome is under 7 tons and less than 10 meters long.

All pitches are parceled out and close to the shore, which creates a very special atmosphere. One night costs 10.80 euros and includes 2 people. Electricity and additional people cost extra. The place has so far been rated 5 stars.

Camping for canoe lovers

The parking space at the canoe club is located on two canals, from which you can easily get to Lake Kummerow and Lake Malchin. You can even paddle along the Peene all the way to Anklam. The canoe club has now existed for 40 years and, in addition to canoe racing, hiking, dragon boat sports, also offers canoe rentals and canoe/dragon boat tours. The canoe club is located in the tranquil town of Malchin and offers space for 8 mobile homes. Supply and disposal is possible at the motorhome parking space and one night including two people costs €10. Electricity, dog and shower each cost €1 extra

Sporty camping

Another great motorhome parking space in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania for traveling with a boat and motorhome is the parking space at the Neubrandenburg water sports center .

The parking space offers 30 spaces right on the water for €10 per night. There are new sanitary facilities and direct water and power supplies for the mobile homes. The marina is located on Lake Tollense and is not far from the city of Neubrandenburg . Neubrandenburg is known for Europe's best-preserved brick Gothic city fortifications and also impresses with its extensive range of events and culture. This means you won't get bored even after a long day on the water.

Lake Tollense is about halfway from Rügen to Berlin and also offers good connections to other lakes.

Lots of action and lots of relaxation

The Havelberge mobile home park on Lake Wobliltz is one of the most popular campsites in a pine forest. Canoes, boats and rafts can be rented directly on site. These are great for sailing/paddling from lake to lake.

The pitches in the mobile home park are supplied with electricity, fresh water, waste water and satellite connections. Thanks to the special location of the mobile home park on the site, the area can also be entered and exited outside of gate times using a special map. During the summer there are shows in the nearby restaurant on Fridays and live music on the open-air stage on Saturdays. So there is enough variety!
