Nestled between the majestic Carnic Alps and the Gailtal Alps lies the Alpencamp Kötschach-Mauthen – a paradise for nature lovers, active holidaymakers and gourmets. Here, pristine mountain scenery meets southern lifestyle: clear streams, green alpine pastures and sunny peaks invite you to explore.
Hiking and cycling trails start directly from the camp, leading to rustic alpine huts, crystal-clear mountain lakes and breathtaking viewpoints. The Gail River, which flows gently past the square, provides refreshment and adventure for swimming, kayaking or fly fishing.
In summer, mountain tours and via ferratas in the Carnic Alps are a major draw, while in winter, well-maintained slopes and cross-country ski trails await in the nearby ski resorts such as Nassfeld or Vorhegg. The town of Kötschach-Mauthen also offers charming cafes, good restaurants, the Aquarena adventure pool and the warm hospitality of Carinthia.
