Welcome to the Rubbertsmühle in Drensteinfurt!
We rent out a SINGLE PLACE all inclusive (with sauna).
We'd love for you to visit us! Here you have two things: on the one hand, the peace and quiet of country life, and on the other hand, the sounds of country life. We have tractors that help us with the work, we mow the lawn, our goats mow from time to time, the owls are nocturnal, and during the day you can hear the kestrels that circle above our cottage every now and then. And of course, we also occasionally flit through the picture.
A reservation is always necessary. Please contact us by mobile phone, WhatsApp or email.
You can camp here with up to eight people; children and dogs are very welcome.
You can enjoy our orchard all to yourselves. The highlight is the view of our listed mill tower and the sunsets from there - best enjoyed with a crackling campfire.
You have a new, large, private bathroom with a shower. Children enjoy the swing and the small sandbox.
If you wish, you are welcome to use our barrel sauna.
There is an orchard, a vegetable garden, our two goats Azrael and Lavender, and our cat Katinka.
Depending on the season, you can pick tree and bush fruit from our fruit trees: apples, pears, cherries, plums, blackberries, raspberries, gooseberries or currants. The scent of fresh hay will accompany you throughout the summer.
If you fancy a campfire in the evening, feel free to ask us about our fire bowl. We can also provide you with a grill.
The stated price (40 euros) refers to a vehicle with two people per night, including 4 kWh. From the 3rd person onwards, each adult (16 years and older) costs an additional 10 euros and each child 7 euros per night. Children under 4 years old go free. The sauna costs 22 euros for 2.5 hours for one or two people.
Animals: Pets are welcome and free of charge. You are welcome to bring several animals. Under the headings “Dogs welcome” and “Cats welcome” you will find our agreements regarding bringing animals. By booking, you agree to these terms.
You have your own space in our garden and essentially have complete peace and quiet. Our mill is not located in the truly, truly remote hinterland, without any sounds of civilization. However, most street noise is filtered out by the farm buildings and the cultivated fields (if they are cultivated) that lie between "your" garden and the street.
On the east side of our small mill farm, we offer another single pitch with bathroom, electricity and sauna access. For more information, please see the separate advertisement “Am Mühlturm bei den Ziegen”.
ACTIVITIES
I have put together a small booklet with things worth seeing and experiencing, which I will send you upon booking and which you can use to inspire you.
If you would like to explore some of the really beautiful destinations in our area, it is advantageous to have your own transportation (bicycle, car). If you are not, you can reach a larger grocery store with a bakery, two restaurants, a snack bar, the post office and doctors on foot. There are also beautiful circular routes for running.
Several beautiful cycling and hiking routes run along our mill - either directly into the industrial heritage or into the nature of the Münsterland region. The entrance to the Werse cycle path is very close by. You can also join the 100 Castles Route from here.
You can also find lakes for swimming and hiking in the surrounding area (20-35 km).
Forests are accessible by bicycle.
Canoe and kayak trips on the Werse or the Lippe rivers are offered in the surrounding area.
By car or train you can quickly reach Münster, Dortmund, Hamm, or visit small, typical Münsterland villages. In my opinion, Münster in particular is worth a day trip. And Holland isn't far away either. And of course, the Ruhr region with its industrial heritage.
If you are looking for day trip destinations for your children, here are some tips: In Münster there is a wonderful all-weather zoo, a planetarium, the mill museum and the Aasee lake, where you can go pedal boating. In Hamm there is the Maxipark.
Swimming pool, great sauna, indoor pool 10 km away - beautiful cycle path
Shopping facilities (groceries) are 1 km away. Shopping streets in Drensteinfurt, Ahlen and Hamm are 10 km away (nice cycle paths to get there).
You can find numerous opportunities to eat regional and Mediterranean food in Ahlen, Münster, and Hamm.
