Description of the environment:
The city:
The town of Penzberg has around 17,000 inhabitants and is considered the region's shopping town. Particularly worth seeing in the city are the city museum (Campendonk Collection, Museumstr. 1), the city hall (Michael-Pfalzgraf-Platz 1) and the area around Gut Hub (bathing lake and small restaurant, Vordermeier 1) with a barefoot path. Nearby area:
The mobile home parking space has existed since August 2022. It is quietly located, a little away from the city center, on a leisure area, the so-called “Berghalde”. A small shopping center (with a supermarket, clothing store, hairdresser and stationery/post office), a hardware store and a drinks market are within walking distance. From the “summit” of the mountain dump, which was created from the waste material of the former coal mine, you have a great view of the moor area around Penzberg and the mountain range of the Alps. There is a large children's playground with a long all-terrain slide on the southern part of the mountain dump. Directly next to the parking space there is a beach volleyball court, a dog training area, a paragliding practice slope and a stick shooting range. There is also a small restaurant within walking distance, but it is not open every day. The nearest swimming lake is about 4km away in the city area, address: Vordermeier 2, there is also a kiosk.
Further surroundings:
There are numerous lakes within a maximum radius of 20 km, the larger ones being Lake Starnberg, Lake Kochel, Lake Walchen and the Osterseen area (Iffeldorf). The area is known as the “Oberland” and is characterized by its proximity to the Alps. The Zugspitze near Garmisch-Partenkirchen is around 40 km to the south (A95 Garmisch motorway), and it is also around 40 km to Munich.

Der Platz ist ganzjährig geöffnet, die Toilettenanlage am Fuß der Berghalde ist aber Ende Oktober bis 1. April geschlossen. Aber Grau- und Frischwasser, sowie Müllensorgung und Parkautomat sind in Betrieb. Ebenso Beleuchtung und Schneeräumung über den Winter.
