Description RV park

The organic farm La Solane ‘The Sunny Side’ is located in the eastern Pyrenees in France, with magnificent views of the impressive mountain range of the Spanish border. Le Therme, a mountain river with numerous waterfalls and natural swimming bays, flows across our 90 hectares of land. For your holiday surrounded by nature, and at the same time with all the desired comfort, seven campsites, a large fully equipped motorhome, a cozy little wooden house and a fully equipped safari tent are available. The first treehouse was finished in the summer of 2011, ready to welcome its first guests. The Mediterranean coast is just over an hour away from La Solane and therefore easily accessible for a day trip. You are welcome to join us for a snack or drinks on our terrace and in the main house at any time. In the evening, you can, if you wish, eat together with us and other guests. ACCOMMODATION “Look, there’s a tree right in the middle of the house!” In the kitchen of the treehouse, in the bathroom and up in the attic you can see the large trunk of the 250-year-old chestnut tree. The branches extend right through the roof to the adjacent roof terrace. Sleeping at a height of 7 meters is a special experience; waking up under a rustling canopy of leaves and having breakfast in the sun on the terrace of the treehouse – you don't get to do that on every holiday! The first treehouse was finished in the summer of 2011, ready to welcome its first guests. The treehouse is suitable for a family of max. 6 people, with a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom (shower and toilet) and a bedroom with a double bed on the "ground floor". In the "attic", around the tree trunk and branches, there are sleeping places for 4 children. Sliding doors connect the attic to the south-facing terrace. It's a wonderful place to sit and you also have a fantastic view. A squirrel occasionally wanders by, and in the evenings you can hear the owl or the rustling of the nocturnal forest (or its wildlife?) far below. The little wooden house is incredibly cozy for a family of four. You can sit comfortably in the glass extension or outside on the terrace and enjoy the beautiful view. The lower level contains the fully equipped kitchen with the adjoining glass extension (south-facing) and the bathroom (shower and toilet). Upstairs there is a room for the children with a bunk bed and another separate bedroom with a double bed. The small house is located at the same elevation as the main building, approximately 75 meters away from it. The caravan for 4 people is located on a large, lower-lying terrace under a protective roof. The caravan is equipped with a double bed and a spacious seating area that can be converted to provide 2 additional sleeping places. Outside, attached to the caravan and under the roof, is a small, fully equipped kitchen complete with its own picnic table. If the children prefer to sleep outside, the meadow in front of the caravan is large enough to, for example, set up an additional tent. The caravan has electricity; the sanitary facilities are located at the main building. You can also pitch your own tent at "La Solane"; there are eight campsites. The seats are placed with ample space between them to allow for optimal peace and privacy. The main building can be reached in a few minutes. The sanitary facilities, two showers and two toilets, are located in the main building. There is also an opportunity to do the washing up here, and you can enjoy the beautiful view while you do so. Electrical devices can be charged here; there is no electricity connection at the campsites. Depending on your preference, you can choose a spot in the shade under the trees or a sunny spot, close to the main building and the toilets, or further away and more private. Each campsite has a large picnic table, handmade from the wood of our own chestnut trees. ACTIVITIES The area around La Solane offers almost endless opportunities for hiking and walking. Numerous trails offer the opportunity to discover untouched nature, enjoy breathtaking views, and visit ruins. If there is interest, we would also be happy to organize longer hikes across the Spanish border to the neighboring towns of Maçanet de Cabrenys or Tapis. There you can shop, eat out or simply stroll through the streets. We will arrange your return transport by car. In summer, our guests can cool off in the river, which is just a few minutes away. Besides the deep sections at the waterfalls, there are plenty of shallow, sandy bays where even small children can swim safely. In the forest they can build huts, follow the tracks of wild animals, or go for a walk with our donkeys. Several farms in the area offer riding excursions on their horses and ponies, for both beginners and experienced riders. The area around La Solane offers a wide selection of interesting destinations for day trips. Just over an hour away lies the Mediterranean coast with hot sandy beaches and picturesque fishing villages like Collioure. Céret, with its colorful market and modern art museum, is also worth a visit, as are the villages of Prats de Mollo and Perpignan, which are steeped in history. Most places in this area have swimming pools, and canoes can be rented at Lake Darnius. A little further south, beyond the Spanish border, the atmosphere and culture change abruptly. Figueres beckons with the Dalí Museum, Girona with its cathedral and old town. Barcelona, at a distance of 2.5 hours, is also a good destination for a day trip.
