From the East, from Spain – Salamanca – Cáceres, it is very easy: drive through the charming Spanish town of Valencia de Alcantara 8 km to the Portuguese border.
Just before the Portuguese border you fill your tank with cheaper petrol or diesel and drive across the border, about 6 km to Portagem. On the right you can see the beautiful rock formations where the nests of the griffon vultures are; a few kilometers away you can directly see Marvão Castle.
In Portagem keep right at the roundabout, you will see a campsite arrow pointing to the right, towards Marvão – Beirã and Santo Antonio das Areias. the way goes up,
After about 2 km you will see a first option to turn left, on this split you will see the signs “Casa de Campo” and “Vale de Ródão”.
Take this exit, then turn right after 80 m to Vale de Ródão. Here you can enjoy a wonderful panorama.
At the end of this very quiet road you will see the camping sign with the arrow pointing to the right, after about 1 km you will already see the campsite.
