Welcome to Hindsels – a historic manor house on Thyholm in northwest Denmark, just a short walk from the Limfjord.Where are the motorhomes located?
Our pitches are located on a lawn directly next to the farm's agricultural buildings. They are nestled behind a hedge, sheltered and overlooking fields, green spaces and trees.
Important to know: The pitches are not directly on the fjord and do not have a direct view of the water. However, the Limfjord is only about a two-minute walk away. Our park, pond and various walking paths are also just around the corner.An active farm
Hindsels is a farm with approximately 190 hectares of arable land. Work is being done on the farm – and that's exactly what a stay with us is all about.
Depending on the season and upcoming work, tractors and other agricultural machinery may be on the move, even early in the morning or in the evening. During harvest or other busy periods, there may be increased activity and noise at times.
There are also pigs on the farm. Depending on the wind direction, the smell of barnyard or manure may be noticeable at times. Especially in summer, there may also be more flies on a farm than one would expect at a typical campsite.Fjord, nature and tranquility
From the parking area you can reach the Limfjord in about two minutes. There you can go for a walk, sit by the water and enjoy the scenery. Around the farm there is also our old park, fields, trees and small paths.
Aside from the agricultural work, it is mostly quiet and rural here – with plenty of space and wide skies.Shower, toilet and fresh water – optional
In a former stable there are simple sanitary facilities with shower, toilet and fresh water. The rooms are rustic and simple, but clean and functional.
Use is optional and costs €5 per person per night. Payment is made on site upon arrival.
Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a leash throughout the entire farm grounds.

Description of the environment:
Surroundings & Excursions
Hindsels is located on Thyholm, a small peninsula in the Limfjord in northwestern Denmark. The landscape is characterized by fjords, fields, small roads, old trees and lots of wide sky. Here, nature is not spectacular in the classical sense – but calm, open and close.
From the parking space it is only about two minutes on foot to the Limfjord. Around the farm you can walk through the park, along the fields and on small paths. The fjord is calm here and shallow in many places. Perfect for simply going to the water, enjoying the view or ending the evening by the fjord.
Hiking, Running & Cycling
Those who enjoy being active can start walking or running directly from the courtyard. Around Hindsels and on Thyholm there are many small country roads, field paths and quiet routes through the open countryside.
The area is also very easy to explore by bicycle. You can connect small villages, stretches of coastline, harbors and the landscape around the Limfjord. The routes are mostly flat to gently hilly – ideal for relaxed bike tours, but also for longer tours.
For runners, the area offers quiet paths and roads with little traffic, as well as beautiful routes along fields and fjords.
Nature & Limfjord
The Limfjord is present everywhere in the region. Small bays, harbors, islands and coastal paths alternate with fields and agriculture. The area is particularly suitable for those who enjoy being outdoors without constantly needing a program of activities.
Depending on the weather, you can swim, sit by the water, watch birds or simply take a walk along the fjord. The sunsets and the long, bright summer evenings are often just as beautiful as the actual destinations.
Good base for excursions
Hindsels is in a quiet location, yet conveniently situated for day trips in Northwest Jutland.
SMK Thy in Doverodde is only about 24 km away. The new museum of the Danish National Museum of Art combines art, landscape and Limfjord and can be easily combined with a walk or a visit to the surrounding area.
The Thy National Park is also easily accessible from our location. There, the landscape changes completely: dunes, heathland, forests, lakes and the rugged North Sea coast dominate the scene. The national park offers numerous signposted hiking trails as well as cycling and mountain biking routes.
A nice day trip also leads to Thisted or Struer, to the harbor, to small shops and cafes or further to the west coast.
Those who like geology and unique landscapes can take a day trip to Mors or Fur. The spectacular moler cliffs Hanklit and Knudeklint have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2026 and are known for their clearly visible earth layers and fossils.
Even small towns and harbors around the Limfjord are worth a visit. That's precisely part of the appeal of this area for us: you don't always have to go to a major tourist attraction. Often all you need is a bicycle, a small harbor, an ice cream, and a spot by the water.
For a coolcation
Northwest Jutland is particularly suitable for those who are not looking for extreme heat in the summer. The Limfjord, the wind and the proximity to the North Sea often ensure more pleasant temperatures than in many classic summer holiday destinations.
Hindsels is therefore also well suited for a coolcation, a short break or a workation: a morning run or a walk to the fjord, working or exploring the area during the day and returning to the farm for rest in the evening.
You can do lots of things with us – but you don't have to do anything at all. And that is perhaps the greatest luxury here.
