Welcome to Nederhögen Vildmarkscenter – camping in the heart of Swedish nature!
Discover the peace and vastness of Sweden! Our year-round campsite is located in Nederhögen, on the border between Jämtland and Härjedalen. Surrounded by forests, lakes, and unspoiled nature, you can enjoy relaxation far from mass tourism.
Camping amidst nature
Our campsite has 30 spacious pitches, each approximately 8 x 15 meters, for motorhomes, caravans, and tents. Pitches with and without electricity (16 A) are available.
Some pitches are located in the immediate vicinity of the service building, others directly at the edge of the forest – ideal for those who love peace and nature.
We are also open for you in winter! During the winter season, we initially have around 15 pitches available.
Equipment and service
Numerous facilities are available to our guests:
- Sanitary facilities with toilets and free hot showers
- Kitchen area and washing facilities
- Washing machine and drying facilities
- Additional showers and sanitary facilities in the main building
- Fresh drinking water from our own well
- Disposal option for chemical toilets
- Free Wi-Fi at the campsite
- Barbecue hut for communal use
- Large lounge with billiards, table tennis, darts, games and books
Restaurant, hotel and other offers
Our Wildlife Centre also features a cozy restaurant. We offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as pizza, hamburgers and other dishes.
Those who prefer to stay in a comfortable room will find various accommodation options in our hotel.
For additional relaxation, a sauna is also available for our guests.
Nature and activities in every season
Whether hiking, cycling, fishing, cross-country skiing or simply enjoying the peace and quiet – with us you can experience Sweden in every season.
The surrounding area features numerous lakes and fishing waters, including Sörtjärn, Vitvattnet, Horten and Klövsjön.
In winter, you can expect snow-covered forests, cross-country skiing opportunities, and snowmobile trails. The popular ski resorts around Vemdalen are also easily accessible.

Nature, tranquility and adventure in Jämtland
Nederhögen is located in southern Jämtland, near the border with Härjedalen, surrounded by extensive forests, clear lakes and the beautiful Swedish wilderness.
Here you'll experience Sweden in its most authentic form: plenty of space, fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and a tranquility that's rare to find these days. With a bit of luck, you might even encounter moose, reindeer, or other wildlife.
Quiet location and good accessibility
Although Nederhögen is located in the middle of nature, our Vildmarkscenter is easily accessible by motorhome or caravan.
The E45 European route, one of Sweden's most important north-south connections, is about 17 km away. From there, you can reach Nederhögen via road 315 and the last 7 km or so through the beautiful Swedish countryside.
Summer in Nederhögen
The surrounding area is ideal for hiking, cycling, fishing, and exploring. Numerous lakes and fishing waters, such as Sörtjärn, Vitvattnet, Horten, and Klövsjön, offer wonderful nature experiences.
The region's waterfalls, traditional villages, and hiking trails are also worth a visit. Golf enthusiasts will also find opportunities to play golf in the area.
Winter in Nederhögen
In winter, the landscape transforms into a magical snow world. Cross-country skiing trails and snowmobile tracks leading through the forests start right at our wildlife center.
The popular ski resorts of Klövsjö, Storhogna and Vemdalen are accessible by car and offer numerous opportunities for skiing and snowboarding.
With a bit of luck, you might even be able to observe the fascinating Northern Lights on clear winter nights.

Welcome to Nederhögen, where the wilderness begins!
The Nederhögen Wilderness Center is located in southern Jämtland, near the border with Härjedalen and not far from the popular Vemdalsfjällen holiday region.
From Route 315, it's about 7 km to Nederhögen. Our campsite is located near the former Nederhögen train station. The access road to the campsite is suitable for larger motorhomes and caravans.
