The over 800-year-old Posterstein Castle in the border triangle of Thuringia, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt is a regional history museum with a wide range of exhibitions - from the history of the castle to the salon of the Duchess of Courland. Boys and fairy tales explore the "children's castle" with a treasure map. From the tower you have a great view over Sprottetal. Several hiking trails lead past Posterstein Castle.

Numerous cycle and hiking trails lead through Posterstein, e.g. long-distance hiking trail Thüringenweg, long-distance cycling path Thuringian city chain with connection to other cycle paths, Lutherweg and the water adventure trail - Sprotte adventure trail along the Sprotte to Nöbdenitz and Schmölln.
