- Description of the environment: The parking space is located directly on the Erzgebirge ridge at an altitude of approx. 900m in the Erzgebirge-Vogtland Nature Park. In summer and especially in autumn, the wonderful landscape is ideal for extensive hikes and bike tours, for example on the Kammweg or the Karlsroute. The European long-distance hiking and cycling route E3 also runs in the immediate vicinity of the square. The Erzgebirge ridge is a popular winter sports area that is particularly suitable for cross-country skiing. The ridge trail, which runs from Johanngeorgenstadt via Weitersglashütte to Schöneck in Vogtland, is one of the longest, most beautiful and snow-sure trails. You can access the cross-country ski trail directly from the parking space. At the parking space is the Hotel Zum Kranichsee with a cozy restaurant and regional cuisine.
