Description RV park
Shieling Holidays is a mere stroll from the local amenities within the village of Craignure, with our local shop only half a mile away, opposite the main ferry terminal and bus lanes. Craignure also offers our local pub the Craignure Inn, as well as the Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa, both of which serve food most of the day. For those special occasions, book a table at Pennygate Lodge restaurant, which is just up the hill from the campsite, with stunning views over the bay. The village also has 2 other tearooms/café, Arlene’s and Blazey’s, both of which can be found close to the ferry terminal and bus lanes. Buses are available twice a day, most days for Tobermory and Fionnphort, where you can take a ferry to Iona (or boat trips to Staffa).
Craignure is centrally positioned on the island and is a good base for exploring all that Mull has to offer, with Tobermory Distillery a 21 mile drive north and the ferry to Iona 35 miles south. The starting point for climbing Ben More is 19 miles north west at Dhiseig on the Gruline road, Calgary Beach is 27.5 miles north west close to the village of Dervaig, and Duart castle a mere 3.5 miles from Shieling Holidays campsite. Most villages throughout the island have a small grocery store and pub offering bar meals. Tobermory is our main town on the island, 21 miles north and offers a mini supermarket, bank, and a multitude of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.
There are forestry walks nearby which you, the family and your dog will love, one that will take you to the now private Torosay castle, or for the more adventurous, walk around the enchanting coastline to both Torosay and Duart castles. Starting points to walk up the surrounding hills are also close by. A pleasant walk around to the other side of the bay will take you to the Isle of Mull Hotel & Swimming Pool.

We are situated on a beautiful shore front with breath-taking sea, mountain, and uninterrupted views up the Sound of Mull and down Loch Linnhe, all the way to Ben Nevis.

To reach the campsite, turn left when you come off the ferry in Craignure and drive/walk for 400 yards. Take the first turning on your left, in front of the Police Station and follow this road around the Village Hall, keeping the shore on your left hand side. You will find reception tucked in behind the Village Hall, all in all you will have driven/walked approximately half a mile from the ferry terminal.
Be aware that if following a Satnav or similar, you will be taken to the center of the postcode and will be nowhere near the campsite, so it is easier to follow the above directions.
