Description of the environment:
Sofielund liegt am wunderschönen Mellandammen. In der Umgebung gibt es ältere Villen mit großen Grundstücken, umgeben von Wäldern und Teichen, die durch Kanäle miteinander verbunden sind.
Wanderwege befinden sich direkt außerhalb des Sofielund-Geländes.
Die Sala Silbermine, die im 17. Jahrhundert als Schatzkammer Schwedens galt, ist ein spannendes Ausflugsziel für Groß und Klein. Sie liegt nur einen kurzen Spaziergang von Sofielund entfernt. Ein 15- bis 20-minütiger Spaziergang auf breiten Wegen durch schöne Natur führt euch dorthin.
Ein Spaziergang entlang des „Gröna gången“ bringt euch zum Måns Ols. Dort gibt es einen schönen Badeplatz mit Sandstrand und Liegewiesen. Umkleideräume und ein Sprungturm sind ebenfalls vorhanden.
Am Måns Ols befindet sich außerdem das Måns Ols Utvärdshus, das Mittagessen, Kaffee und Abendessen serviert. Von dort hat man einen fantastischen Blick auf den Långforsen.

Von der Straße 70 biegt man auf die Straße 256 in Richtung Sala ab. Nach ca. 3 km folgt man der Abzweigung nach Sofielund, ausgeschildert mit „Vandrarhem“ (Herberge).
Von der Straße 56 biegt man auf die Straße 256 in Richtung Fagersta/Norberg ab und nimmt die erste Abzweigung rechts (500 m nach der Kreuzung), ebenfalls ausgeschildert mit den Symbolen für Herberge und Camping.
