Description RV park
Toca da Raposa (Fox Den) is a small, cozy campsite in central Portugal; Located near the “Serra da Estrela” (star mountain), the highest mountains in the Portuguese main land, a magnificent region in a magnificent country.
It's is a campers paradise in the middle of nature, the ideal spot to discover this beautifull region.
There is plenty to discover or visit, depending on ones taste and interests.
The "Serra da Estrela", almost 2000 meters high with enormous granite stones and spectacular vieuws, is the perfect landscape for nice car or motor trips or magnificent walks and hikes with the mapped out PR trails.
There are also a few rivers with picturesque river beaches, ideal for relaxing on warm summer days.
In the region there are also some small villages, worth while visiting: Meruge (the old center is built on enormous rock), Linhares (has a nice castle), Bobadela (Roman arena and an interesting olive museum), Piódão (picturesque mountain village), ...
A bit further away are 2 bigger sities to visit: Coimbra (one of the largest universities in Europe, small shoppingstreets, musea, old buildings, fado) and Viseu (with a magnificent cathedral, old center and a large market every Tuesday).
