The Niesenbahn cable car is closed for the winter and the parking area will remain closed until the start of the 2026 season on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
The parking lot offers overnight accommodation for motorhomes and campers without prior registration. Please check in at the ticket office of the Niesenbahn valley station upon arrival (until 5:00 pm or 7:30 pm for evening journeys) or the following morning.
The simple motorhome parking space is located in the parking lot of Niesenbahn AG. The location is ideal for excursions to the Niesen mountain or hikes. Guests stay overnight on the banks of the Kander river in the spacious, sunny parking lot right next to the valley station of the Niesenbahn (kiosk with drinks and snacks). The train station and BP petrol station are just a few minutes' walk away.
The path to the parking space leads under a railway underpass. The underpass is marked with a maximum height of 2.3 meters. Vehicles 2.20 meters wide and 2.85 meters high can pass through without any problems (see photo).
