Description RV park

The motorhome site “Sälber Tor” is located in a quiet yet central location in the Sleeping Beauty town of Hofgeismar on the edge of the Reinhardswald nature park. A total of 58 parking spaces are available on two levels: 50 spaces on the original area and eight newer parking spaces with a water-permeable surface (grass grid stones).
The square has coin-operated power pillars with a total of 26 connections. Electricity can be used for a fee (€2 for 2 kWh, maximum 24 hours; payment only with 2-euro coins).
A fresh water station (€2 for 80 liters) and a "Holiday Clean" water supply and disposal system with grey water disposal channel are available.
Public, pay-toll and accessible toilets are located about a five-minute walk away in the Stadthallenpassage.
There is also a bus stop and a bread roll delivery service nearby.
The historic city center with pedestrian zone, cafes, restaurants and snack bars is easily accessible on foot.
Locally you will find numerous shopping opportunities, including EDEKA, ALDI, LIDL, REWE and TEGUT, banks, post office, pharmacies, doctors, petrol stations and other services.
Hofgeismar offers many opportunities for a varied stay:
• "Bad am Park" adventure pool (indoor and outdoor pool) approx. 1 km away
• Well-signposted hiking and cycling trails in the Reinhardswald Nature Park
• Canoeing on the Diemel river nearby
• Historic half-timbered old town with town hall and carillon

• Gesundbrunnen Park with Schönburg Palace
• Castles, palaces and other half-timbered towns in the region
Hofgeismar train station is also nearby. From here, the RegioTram RT1 runs every 30 minutes directly to the documenta city of Kassel.

    Overall impression

    Mai 2024 : 2 kostenlose große, ruhige Stellplätze. Lediglich die Straße in der unmittelbaren Nähe war Abends etwas laut aber akzeptabel.
    Ver - und Entsorgung prima. Strom 2 Euro. Gute Spazierwege mit dem Hund. Bis in den Ort läuft man doch 20 - 25 Minuten und da es Bergab geht, somit für ältere oder eingeschränkte Personen etwas beschwerlich.
    Im Städtchen viele schöne Märchen Bronzefiguren. Eiscafe, Woolworth, Bäckerei, Sparkasse und ein Einkaufsladen.
    Der Platz war gut besucht. Hier passen auch lange Mobile locker hin.
    Alles in allem prima.

    Overall impression

    Toller Platz mit Potential

    Wer keinen Strom braucht steht da kostenlos und richtig, unter den Bäumen ist TV kaum möglich. Strom kostet 2 € für 1 KW . Wir waren am 3.12.21 dort und haben übernachtet, die Stadt erkundet, Wanderung gemacht, Essen gegangen. Danach braucht man kein Fernsehen mehr. Tolle Stadt. Der Platz ist riesig und nachts auch ruhig. Sogar mit Brötchenservice der Extraklasse. Nur ihr müsst um 08:30 schnell sein wenn der Bäcker hupt, sonst ist er weg bei niedriger Auslastung des Platzes. Wir fahren da auf jedenfall nochmal hin. Ein Lob an die Stadt Hofgeismar.
