Relax and discover in a region full of history

Numerous hiking and cycling trails run through the Westerwald. The low mountain range is perfect for taking trips on foot or by bike with families. There is the Westerwald-Rhein cycle path , the various WällerTouren , the WesterwaldSteig or the RheinburgenWeg , to name just a few offers. The Westerwald Lake District in the heart of the region offers great swimming opportunities and many other activities for children in two of seven reservoirs. In the very west of the region, there are thermal baths and places steeped in history. The city of Andernach - one of the oldest cities in Germany - not only has historical buildings to offer, but also the highest cold water geyser in the world. In Bad Hönningen, the fairytale Arenfels Castle awaits visitors, as does the Kristall Rheinpark Therme.

Old half-timbered houses can be admired in, among other places, Grenzau, in the southern Westerwald region of Kannenbaeckerland. In this region you will find the Limes - a former Roman border fortification - part of the longest archaeological monument in Europe. In the far north, in the Sieg natural region, nature lovers will find cycling and hiking routes, such as the Ruhr-Sieg cycle path. The Druidstein near Kirchen-Herkersdorf is a special natural phenomenon. Another destination worth seeing in this area is the Crottorf moated castle.

In the western Westerwald, directly on the banks of the Rhine, there is a well-equipped place for all motorhomes and campers. The Kristall Rheinpark thermal baths are next door and there are numerous wineries around Bad Hönningen. This ensures relaxation, physical and mental well-being. You can also park a motorhome on the extensive waterfront promenade, which invites you to take a stroll. In addition, there are ongoing events that focus on the well-being of the guests.
