Description of the environment:
Camping de Boomgaard
Enjoy camping and nature along the meandering Meuse river.
Camping de Boomgaard is located in the idyllic Aldeneik (Maaseik). Here you can drive with your tent, caravan or motorhome. We also have glamping tents for rent. The campsite is located on the cycle path network near junction 25 and in the beautiful, award-winning Rivierpark Maasvallei. The ferry will get you to the Netherlands in no time, allowing you to continue your hike or bike tour. The Hoge Kempen National Park is also only a few kilometers away.
You can camp on the banks of the meandering Meuse river. They remain surrounded by natural beauty and relax as they gaze at the water, the large grazing cattle on the other side, the countless water birds, or the excursion boats on the Meuse. At dusk you can see several beavers swimming in the Mynecomplas directly behind the campsite. The campsite is located between the Heerenlaak and Spanjaerd marinas and is a 10-minute bike ride from the historic market of Maaseik. Restaurants and terraces within 50 meters. If you'd like to spend a day shopping, Maasmechelen Village or Designer Outlet Roermond are nearby.
Camping de Boomgaard is accessible from February to December via our paved pitches by the Maas river. Stay among the cherry trees with a view of the Meuse river. You can completely relax at this small but lovely campsite. It is the ideal starting point for hikes and bike tours in the beautiful Maasvallei River Park. If you are a water sports enthusiast, there are opportunities for sailing, water skiing, wakeboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing, windsurfing or fishing nearby. Catering is plentiful and to round things off, you can enjoy a wine tasting at the award-winning Wijndomijn Aldeneyck. Our audience consists mainly of active people seeking peace and quiet, who enjoy traveling on foot and by bicycle. The campsite does not have a playground. Dogs are welcome.
