Day out
What could be more fun than visiting an amusement park or museum with the whole family? In the area surrounding Charmecamping de Regge-Vallei you will find fun and child-friendly outings. For example, visit Avonturenpark Hellendoorn, the Kabouterpad Zandstuvebos or one of the estates or forests in the area. From Den Ham you can easily reach Ommen by bike. The route to Ommen is beautiful! Various events are also organised near our campsite. Such as markets, festivals and fairs. Take the whole family for a romp in the sands of the Ommen Sahara, visit the play forest at Lemelerberg, and hike to the top of the mountain—the view is breathtaking! Or go canoeing on the Regge river.
Misuse
Cyclists can indulge themselves in the area around De Regge-Vallei. The Sallandse Heuvelrug, the Vechtdal, the forests of Ommen; It's all close to this Twente campsite. Twente is beautiful! The coulisselandscape and the meandering streams and rivers make it complete. There is no straight road. It is really different there than other places in the Netherlands. The many vistas and exciting views make cycling in this area a wonderful experience. At the campsite you can borrow bicycle routes that will take you past the most beautiful spots.

Walking
The immediate vicinity of Charmecamping de Regge-Vallei is ideal for short walks or long hikes. There are several hiking trails running directly past the campsite. Put on your shoes and you're ready to walk away!
Various walking routes can be selected via the Visit Oost website. Not every hiking trail is in the immediate vicinity of the campsite, but they are all reasonably close. There is a nice walking route for everyone, from sculpture routes to nature walks.
Do you prefer to walk on spec? That could very well be the case. There are many sandy paths in the immediate vicinity of the campsite. Apart from the occasional mountain biker, there is little traffic. This gives you plenty of time to enjoy the Twente coulisselandscape.
Camping De Regge-Vallei is the ideal base for any walk in Twente!
Fishing
Overijssel, and Twente in particular, are known for their gently flowing streams and rivers. They cross the beautiful coulisselandscape of fields, meadows, hedgerows, forests and heathland. A truly beautiful setting for a wonderful fishing holiday in Overijssel. Twente is a region with many interesting fishing waters. This is also the case in the immediate vicinity of Camping De Regge-Vallei in Den Ham.
The Regge Valley is not a fishing campsite and is also not located on the water. The nearest fishing water is De Linderbeek. The Linderbeek rises in Vroomshoop and flows into the Regge near Den Ham. The Linderbeek is 11 kilometers long and offers opportunities for various types of sport fishing. Water can flow strongly after rain. Fish such as tench, ide, asp, perch and pike are regularly caught there. The Linderbeek fishing water is located 1.7 kilometres from the campsite. Great fun to stroll along with artificial bait or a float rod.
Flowing Twente waters such as the Linderbeek and the Regge are very interesting for predatory fish anglers. You can catch pike, large asp and perch there. The white fish angler can also indulge himself, there are large tench, lots of ide and bream swimming here. Fly fishing is even possible in these waters!
Near the hamlet of Hancate there are three concrete fishing piers on the Overijssels Canal. This is a good place for carp anglers. All waters around the campsite may be fished if you have a fishing permit.

Swimming
The De Groene Jager swimming pool is located two kilometres from the campsite. The Groene Jager is a beautiful swimming pool with a huge green lawn surrounding it. Swimming is not free, but there is always supervision. Swimming pool De Groene Jager is owned by a foundation and is run entirely by volunteers. The entrance is also to be able to maintain the swimming pool. The pool area also features a Wi-Fi lounge, slide and beach volleyball court.
Fancy a change to a different pool? Visit Aquapark De Zandstuve. This outdoor swimming pool is located on the other side of Den Ham and has 3 swimming pools and a water spray park.
Would you rather go to a real water park? The Aquaventure Slidepark is an outdoor water park in Hellendoorn and has 11 spectacular slides. Do you love natural water? There is always room at the 37-hectare recreation area with solar field and recreational lake, Het Lageveld in Wierden. There is even a separate toddler and preschool area, a playground and toilet. The Lageveld is free to enter; you only pay for a day parking ticket.
On a warm day in Twente, who wouldn't want to enjoy the water?
Shopping, catering and groceries
Charming campsite De Regge-Vallei is located in the countryside surrounding the historic village of Den Ham in the province of Overijssel. Den Ham (3km) is the place where you can go for your daily shopping at the Jumbo or Coop supermarket. There is also a good baker and a nice butcher in the village. There is also a pharmacy and a general practitioner in the village.
At the village green in Den Ham you will find catering establishments with terraces. If you like shopping, Ommen and Almelo are the larger towns nearby. Ommen (10km) is easily accessible by bike. Water city Almelo (20km) is a bit further away and is better visited by car.

Hares, deer, buzzards and woodpeckers regularly pass by. The neighbours' cows are also always fun to watch. Or even better; Relax in one of the hammocks you'll find at this charming campsite. Lying in a hammock and listening to the birds chirp, that's what I call a holiday...
