Description RV park
This campsite is located on the southern slope of the island, at an altitude of 1700 m, near the border of the Teide National Park.
Due to its geographical location, the climate here is extreme most of the year, with little annual rainfall, which falls in the form of snow in winter. Temperatures vary greatly both during the different seasons and between day and night. This means that on the same day it can be very hot at midday and freezing cold in the evening.
These harsh climatic conditions are no obstacle for the Canary Island pine, which in this area mixes with other shrubs typical of the summit areas (hairy featherhead or broom).
As for wildlife, this area is home to bird species such as the great spotted woodpecker and the Teide finch. You will also come across Canary Island lizards, which like to use the midday sun to warm themselves.
In addition, several species of bats live in the darkness of the caves and volcanic tubes created by the lava flows. They are the only endemic mammals of the Canary Islands.
