With its pretty half-timbered houses, Osterspai nestles between the forests of the western Taunus heights and the extensive orchards in the Rhine Valley. On the other side of the river rises the Hunsrück with the vineyards of the famous “Bopparder Hamm” location. Liebeneck Castle is located high above the town, and the town center is dominated by picturesque alleys, the baroque church of St. Martin and a moated castle with a chapel from the 13th century. The wonderful location on Germany's largest loop of the Rhine makes wonderful excursions and hikes possible at any time of the year. The premium hiking trail “Rheinsteig” leads 5.8 km through the area around our town. You can get to know the surrounding area on other marked hiking trails around Osterspai. It is only a short, manageable distance to the sights in the Rhine Valley, such as Marksburg, Loreley or Koblenz.
