To make your motorhome holiday in Sweden perfect: Sweden is completely toll-free and vignette-free for all motorhomes! Wild camping is permitted for tents thanks to the right of public access, but for motorhomes only in public parking lots. Important regulations: In Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö, environmental zones apply to older diesel vehicles. Only on the Øresund Bridge (to Denmark) is a toll of approximately €60.
Average costs: From simple natural pitches starting at €20 to luxury pitches at €80 per night. On average, you'll pay €30-45 per night. Diesel costs approximately €1.70 per liter (as of summer 2025). Best time to visit: Year-round! Sweden offers the Northern Lights and winter camping in winter, the awakening nature in spring, the midnight sun and endless bright nights in summer, and mushrooms, berries, and Indian summer in the forests in autumn.

Prices range from basic pitches starting at €20 to over €80 per night . Simple, natural pitches cost €20-35, upscale pitches €40-60, and luxury pitches cost up to €80 and more. Many pitches offer authentic Swedish experiences with saunas included.
The right of public access does not apply to camper vans —only to hikers with tents. You are only allowed to spend the night with a camper van in public parking lots, rest areas, or hikers' parking lots. However, this is completely legal and tolerated.
